Rutherford County student’s artwork on display in Washington, D.C.

Artwork created by Rutherford County student Lexie Williams, an eight-year-old who attends the Tennessee School for the Blind, is on display at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.  Lexie and her parents, Douglas and Taronda Williams, recently were flown to Washington for a congressional dinner and the unveiling of the artwork.  The family also met U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, U.S. Sen. Bob Corker and U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon.

A healthy mind starts with a healthy body. Rutherford County is tops in the state in terms of sports and athletics, routinely fielding teams that finish in the top 10 statewide in football, basketball, baseball and soccer.
